last concert of the year—soul asylum @ ex-théÒtre corona. yyyyyeah. soul asylum from all the way back to the freakin' 90s. |
| in a world before cell phones existed and also when we had to bring our camera rolls to a shop to get our photos printed, memories of chantal & i living over at our parents' house and naming our outside cat dave (like the singer) because of his matted fur. πππ true story. |
| alrightie... to preface, got a love/hate relationship with that venue (hence why i even hesitated attending). love since it's absolutely GORGEOUS. hate cuz although they've got a lovely balcony upstairs with several seats, for whatever reason it's not always open. & seems like it's a gamble whether or not it is. well. i did not luck out that night. upon entering the venue and rushing upstairs, i found all of these inticing seats being off limit behind a huge prison-like barricade. *sigh* |

| honestly, had not kept up at all with the band since very early 2000s. and, ok. how do i put this gently, erh. while i quite enjoyed the show and hearing back those hits live.....i know we all grow old and most of us not looking as fresh as in our heydays, but. i couldn't help being shocked how cutesy-face dave turned out 30 years later. (sorry!!!! but) not sure if it's the consumption of alcohol over a long loooong period of time, however he did appear tipsy that night at the very least. seems like he could barely keep his eyes open and looking rather rough/puffy. axl rose-ish?? bwahahaha. i mean. not just look-wise but overall. then again, what do i know... *shrug*
